President’s Winter 2019 Message
John (Jack) Buckley, Jr., FACHE
Dear ACHE colleagues,
As 2020 begins a new decade, so does our ACHE-SETC leadership team begin new initiatives. I hope that you and your personal and workplace families found the Holidays to be a joyous change of pace and a chance to relax and energize for the New Year. As I wrap up my term as your Chapter President, I am excited about working with our new Chapter President, Noel Cardenas and Chapter Vice President, Richelle Webb Dixon, as they assume their roles in January 2020.
We have our first quarter breakfast session on January 29, 2029 and registration now is open! Come and hear about what is happening on the legislative front from moderator Ted Shaw, President and CEO of the Texas Hospital Association, and expert panelists Tim Ottinger from CHI St. Luke’s Health, Freddy Warner from Memorial Hermann, and Meghan Weller from HCA Texas.
A special thank you to retiring Board members Anthony L. Dawson, FACHE, Paul C. O’Sullivan, FACHE, and David P. Bernard, FACHE, for their service and support. A warm welcome to new Board members; Carla C. Braxton, MD, FACHE, Lindsey Harper Crain, FACHE, Gregory L. Haralson, FACHE, Dan B. Newman, FACHE, Chris O. Okezie, FACHE, and David S. Wagner, FACHE. As affiliates of the ACHE-SouthEast Texas Chapter, you are in very capable hands with your leadership team for 2020 and beyond.
Puneet Freibot is heading up our Mentorship Committee and is in need of mentors. Remember the axiom: Get a mentor; be a mentor! Reach out to Puneet (puneetgf@gmail.com) and her team to make arrangements to mentor a colleague!
Alla Adams (aadams@park.edu) and Felix Bradbury (felix.bradbury@accenture.com) are serving as co-chairs of the Membership Committee. Reach out and encourage a colleague to join our professional organization and advance to Fellow. We have crossed the 1,500 member level and have the potential to reach 1,700+ members this year. Let’s get there!
If for some reason you have not yet paid your dues for 2020, there is still time to do so at: www.ache.org
For 2020, the motto is simple: Gig ‘em!
