President’s Message- Fall/Winter 2023

I trust you are all doing well and enjoying the fall weather that is now upon us. What a welcome change it has been in contrast to the oppressive heat we experienced this summer.

Last month I had the opportunity to attend our ACHE Chapter Leaders conference in Chicago which proved to be an excellent chance to network and hear from chapters around the nation on how they are engaging their members in meaningful ways to bring value to the ACHE membership.  As I listened to many of the presentations, I was encouraged by the commitment our chapter makes to educational offerings, networking opportunities, and resources for Fellow advancement.

The bulk of our chapter work is carried out by committees made up of professionals from a variety of healthcare backgrounds and experience levels. We each possess a unique skill set that collectively creates tremendous value to our chapter and our individual members. If you are not yet serving on a committee, please let me know or reach out to Mark Biscone, our Executive Director. In addition to serving on a committee, members who pursue Fellow status or simply pay membership dues before the end of the calendar year are helping to strengthen the position of the ACHE SouthEast Texas
Chapter.

This is an exciting time of year for our Chapter as we have many events planned between now and the end of the year. Brian Spisak will prepare us for the Next Era of Digital Healthcare systems at our virtual F2F event on October 17th. Our upcoming What’s Up Boss in-person session will be held on October 18th along with a virtual session on October 26th. Additionally, our Fall Leadership Conference will be held on November 2nd and 3rd at the InterContinental Houston – Medical Center. We have many more upcoming events that you can explore on our website at www.ache-setc.org/events.

As healthcare leaders, each of us is called to serve to improve the human condition. We can make small improvements individually, but we make giant leaps collectively. Thank you for being a member of ACHE-SETC. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.

Warmest Regards,

Greg
