The ACHE – SETC Community Outreach and Golf Tournament Committee held their 12th Annual Golf Tournament on October 6, 2011. A break in the summer heat made the tournament enjoyable for the golfers and our great volunteers alike. The tournament benefited the Star of Hope in support of their mission, to meet the needs of the homeless in the Houston area. In addition, proceeds will also be used to fund local educational scholarships for future healthcare executives.
We had a great turnout at the Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club, the site of this year’s tournament. There was well over $3,000 in prizes available to be won through the raffle, not to mention the Hole-in-one opportunity to win a 2011 Nissan 370Z Convertible! Unfortunately again this year, no one made that valued hole-in-one shot.
The ACHE tournament would not be possible without the generous support from our sponsors and the gifts in kind. A key driver for the success of the tournament was the hard work of our dedicated committee members and volunteers. It was great to see months of planning come together and meet our objectives. Through the work of the committee and the generosity of sponsors and donors, the ACHE –SETC will be able to share the proceeds of the tournament with the Star of Hope at the next breakfast on Thursday, November 10th.
This event concluded the committee’s 2011 activities. Stay tuned for upcoming community involvement opportunities in Spring of 2012! We are looking for new members to join the committee. It is a great way to get involved in your local ACHE chapter so please contact the co-chairs, Terry Cooper and Mitali Paul, if you are interested.
