This comprehensive construction management course taught by 26 faculty, is tailored specifically for leaders in healthcare administration, recognizing the pivotal role of design and construction within their careers. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical applications, course participants will gain a deep understanding of the strategy, planning, design, and construction processes unique to the healthcare industry. The course consists of 10 virtual 2-hour sessions plus a final exam. By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively contribute to and oversee healthcare facility projects, ensuring they are well-prepared to navigate the complexities of the healthcare industry as competent decision-makers and leaders.
Throughout the course, participants will:

- Utilization of gaming, simulation, and virtual reality in planning and design.
- Site planning, facility, campus, and regional planning considerations.
- Financial modeling, cost estimation, and bond rating assessments.
- AI and Technology.
- Medical equipment planning and the impact on design and capital planning.
- Compliance with regulations and guidelines, including infection control.
- Integration of lean design and construction principles.
- Emphasis on building science, sustainability, wellness, and engineering systems such as mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP).
