Liz Youngblood Bio

Liz Youngblood currently serves as the President of Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center & Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Texas Division of Catholic Health Initiatives. In this role, Liz is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operations, including managing to defined metrics to achieve clinical, operational and financial excellence; ensuring alignment and implementation of a high quality, cost-effective integrated health care delivery system and integrating the system’s strategic plan into operations.

Liz has over 20 years of leadership experience working in for profit, academic and nonprofit health systems. Liz’s strengths include hospital and health care system strategic planning and strategy implementation, organizational growth and business development, population health management, health system and hospital operations, clinical service lines, medical staff engagement, patient and workforce engagement and operational and process excellence.

A registered nurse, Liz received her diploma of nursing from Ona M. Wilcox School of Nursing, a bachelor’s degree in general studies from West Texas A&M University and her MBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Liz is also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
She has served on multiple community, business and state boards, including the SMU Cox School of Business Alumni Board and is past chairman of the board of directors for the Quality Texas Foundation. Liz has been named a Top 50 Leading Business Woman by the Mississippi Business Journal and has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumna by the SMU Cox School of Business.
