Howdy and Welcome to 2019!
Our hope is that your holidays were a pleasant break from the usual and that you had time with family and friends to recharge and ready yourselves to an eventful 2019. With the ever changing healthcare landscape, the dynamic economic marketplace and the political environment, 2019 promises to be a year of great continuing opportunity to sharpen our focus on providing care to the patients whom we are privileged to serve.
Your ACHE-SETC Chapter stands ready to assist you in your professional journey for continuing education, networking, mentoring and professional engagement with colleagues across the entire health delivery spectrum. Take advantage of our quarterly breakfast sessions, other educational and networking opportunities and Leadership Conference on October 23-24.
Our theme this year—“Bold Innovation: the New Era of Medicine”– kicks off with a presentation by Toby Hamilton, MD, on “Innovation: A Moral Imperative” on January 31, 2018 at the Junior League Building at 1811 Post Oak Lane. If indeed it is still true that it takes 17 years from the lab bench to the bedside for a new procedure to be fully adopted, how do we shorten that time frame for the benefit of our patients? Additionally, how do we balance the reaction that the “boss has read a new book last week and we have to change again this week” to the continuous expectation for change?
We are looking at new ways to bring you more of the required “Face to Face” ACHE required educational credits. Be sure to mark the dates of October 23-24 on your calendar for the Chapter’s Leadership Conference. Six to nine hours of ACHE F2F CEUs will be offered with the opportunity to earn a total of 12 hours for the year via other events scheduled in 2019.
On behalf of the Chapter Board, joined by our Chapter Administrator, Regent and the Foundation Board, we look forward to serving your continuing educational needs and encourage you to “bring a colleague” to one of our sessions.
