Our chapter is seeking an Executive Director of Operations to work alongside our Board of Directors to further the Mission and Purpose of our Chapter. 

JOB TITLE: Executive Director of Operations, ACHE Southeast Texas Chapter

REPORTS TO: Board of Directors and Education Foundation Board of Directors, ACHE Southeast Texas Chapter

PURPOSE

The purpose of this job is to contribute to the success of members, chapter volunteers and the chapter overall.

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for advancing ACHE Southeast Texas Chapter goals through outreach and engagement of key stakeholders including members, regent and chapter leaders (Chapter and Foundation Board Members, and Committee Chairs). The Executive Director of Operations serves as a consultant to his/her stakeholders to guide and enable progress toward ACHE goals.

JOB FUNCTIONS

I. Chapter and Foundation Activities (75% of Time)

  • Serve as the liaison to Chapter Leaders and members providing guidance, assistance, and resources to foster alignment with ACHE’s vision and mission and strategic goals of healthcare management excellence via:
    • Membership growth (students, early careerists, mid careerists, seasoned careerists and executives)
    • Membership retention
    • Growth in members advancing to Fellow status
    • Fundraising (securing and maintaining sponsorships)
    • Engagement of student volunteers
    • Chapter marketing (website, newsletter, collateral)
    • Education
    • Networking
    • Career Development
  • Grow and strengthen the chapter by conducting chapter operations at the direction of the chapter leaders. Assist in planning and executing strategies that align with chapter and ACHE goals.
  • Lead the planning and execution of chapter activities such as annual conferences, breakfast sessions, golf tournaments or other events, educational sessions, etc.
  • Identify and match chapter needs and opportunities with ACHE resources. Inform chapter leaders about ACHE’s strategic initiatives, programs, products and services, and chapter support tools designed to assist in fulfilling their volunteer roles.
  • Collaborate with chapter leaders to help develop and deliver chapter programs and services that promote and enhance ACHE membership.
  • Develop and implement customized membership recruitment, retention and advancement plans to support membership growth and engagement.
  • Serve as the liaison to ACHE national for all required communications, reports and initiatives and ensure they are submitted in a timely manner.

II. Regent and Chapter President Support (15% of Time)

  • Assist Regents in assigned district(s) to fulfill their roles and responsibilities related to serving on the Council of Regents, advising the local ACHE chapter(s), reaching out to the local healthcare community and facilitating communications between ACHE and the local healthcare community.
  • Support Regents in their role as advisor and champion for chapter(s) in their jurisdiction.
  • Provide staff support to Regents performing their duties related to Communication and Visibility, including distribution of a quarterly Message from Your Regent electronic newsletter, sending welcome/congratulations letters to new members, Fellows and recertified Fellows.
  • Assist with presenting Regents Awards at selected local events.
  • Partner with Regents in their Healthcare Community Outreach duties and expectations, including outreach to Chief Executive Officers and other senior-level healthcare executives.
  • Maintain contact with programs in the Higher Education Network through email and phone communication to assure synchronous communications are occurring between the chapter and program.
  • Support Chapter President in all duties and needs (preparing talking points and agendas, reports, minutes, facilitation of meetings, etc).
  • Prepare Chapter President and Regent message for the newsletter
  • Participate in meetings with Regent and Chapter President as requested

III. Other Activities  (10% of Time)

  • Provide strong and effective leadership to all assigned districts and to ACHE staff.
  • Assists with any special projects as directed.
  • Completes other job related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in business administration or healthcare administration required.
  • Ideal candidate will have 7-10 years professional experience working as an executive within a healthcare institution.
  • FACHE preferred.
  • CAE preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Five years active membership in ACHE required.
  • Understanding of volunteer management and cultivation.
  • Must have strong skills and capabilities in written and verbal communication, time management and organization, data analysis and planning, and information technology. Must be comfortable and adept at presenting to large group sessions.
  • Must have strong customer service and teamwork orientation.
  • Ability to effectively use standard office tools and social media platforms.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to field a wide variety and type of information.
  • Ability to make decisions and quickly execute.
  • Judgment to recognize and respond quickly and appropriately to elected leader and chapter leader concerns.
  • Ability to travel across the region
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and other non-business hours.
  • Ability to effectively use standard office tools and social media platforms.
