Panelists:
Christine M. Young currently serves as the 2023-2024 UTMB Health System Administrative Fellow. She received her Bachelor’s in Public health from Texas A&M University and her Master’s in Health Administration at Cornell University. During her 3 years at Texas A&M, Christine co-led multiple research initiatives and worked with rural, low-income, underserved communities to examine their healthcare experiences. Her time working with vulnerable populations led her to publish 4 research works in nationally recognized journals and co-author 4 working manuscripts to help bring awareness for the need to provide these communities better quality care. At Cornell, she was involved with various initiatives such as directing the SSM Health Co-sponsored, Sloan Program in Health Administration National Case Competition, which garnered over 120 graduate/professional student participants across the United States.
Prior to joining UTMB Health, while in her graduate studies Christine served as a Program coordinator for the ACHE-Southeast Texas Chapter and was actively involved in facilitating and spearheading the various strategic initiatives. She interned at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she supervised a specialty wide quarterly Quality Improvement Initiative for 19 Patient-Centered Medical Homes. Direct from her efforts, over 2,200 additional lives were impacted, and her process improvement recommendations continue to aid an additional magnitude of patients weekly in obtaining timely, needed care.
Christine brings a passion for providing equitable, accessible, high-quality care for all individuals regardless of socioeconomic or geographic background. She confidently chose UTMB Health because of the organization’s forward-thinking spirit, commitment to continuous learning, and constant drive to pursue high-quality patient care.
Outside of work, Christine enjoys making Charcuterie boards, Aquascaping, Fencing recreationally, training her Maltipoo, Angie, for her Therapy Dog certification, and spending time with her friends and family.
Bianca Daswani currently serves as the Talent Development Leader for The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD, the largest behavioral and developmental disability care center in Texas. There, she manages agency-wide clinical rotation, internship, and practicum programs and associated affiliation agreements. Her passion for developing young professionals and utilizing data and evidence-based approaches to enhance operational efficiencies has been an asset to The Harris Center.
Before her current role, Daswani gained unmatched experience as the very first Administrative Fellow at The Harris Center. She is no stranger to “building the plane while flying it,” from operationalizing the fellowship with scarce reference to conceptualizing the organization’s first Administrative Internship Program. Daswani holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Houston, and a Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics from Texas Woman’s University.
Highly motivated to transform healthcare delivery positively, Bianca Daswani has a strong interest in behavioral health, diversity, equity, and inclusion. She believes that educating oneself on how to lead is as equally important as educating others on how to lead. To this end, she feels passionately about her position in ACHE-SETC as the Cochair of the Mentorship Committee, where she creates more efficient methods for further mentorship engagement. In the future, Daswani looks forward to impacting the quality of patient care and efficiency in health system operations through leadership and management.
Mariah Yannerella is proud to serve Texas Children’s Hospital as a Financial & Special Projects Coordinator (Project Manager) since November 2021. Her prior experience in public health, private aviation, and manufacturing brings unique perspective when leading process improvement and innovation initiatives for outpatient clinics within the Department of Pediatrics. In addition to these responsibilities, Mariah also serves as the primary preceptor of the Ambulatory Business Operations internship program since March 2023.
Chastity Boudreaux is a Program Manager in the MD Anderson Cancer Center Leadership Institute.
In the Leadership Institute, she manages and coordinates a variety of programs focused on development of new leaders, identification of high potential employees for future leadership roles and continuous learning of current leaders including Administrative Fellowship, LEADing Teams Accelerate and LEADing Others Accelerate. In addition she assists with the planning for the Leadership Institute External Advisory Board and serves as a mentor to administrative staff across the institution.
An alumna of the University of Houston and a native Houstonian, Chastity joined the MD Anderson team in 1996 after working in the oil and gas industry. In her 20 plus years at MD Anderson, she has served in a number of management positions developing systematic processes to maximize the institution’s fiscal and people resources.
