About our Sake Guide – Jason Ruth is a native Houstonian, who has been studying wine and spirits for the last 8 years. Currently he is a diploma student for the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET). He has also received certifications in Sake (WSET Level 3), Certified Wine Specialist, Certified Spirit Specialist, Advanced Sommelier and Bourbon Stewardship.
He has served as a judge for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Wine Competition. One of the areas he has been asked to judge in the wine competition is Sake. He also judges for the San Francisco Spirits Competition and BottleRock. However, his favorite activity is discovering and drinking different Sakes with his friends at sushi bars.
