FreeGreg Haralson joined the Memorial Hermann Health System in 2012. His 20-year career in health care has been based in the acute care setting with experience in hospital operations, strategic planning, business development, ethics and compliance and project management.
In his current position, Haralson oversees the Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, a 1,243-bed academic medical center, which includes Memorial Hermann-TMC, Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital and Memorial Hermann Orthopedic & Spine Hospital. He also has responsibility for TIRR Memorial Hermann and Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Hospital-Katy.
Previously, he served as senior vice president and chief executive officer of Memorial Hermann Sugar Land and Southwest Hospitals. Under his leadership, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land experienced unprecedented growth and $100M in campus improvements. The hospital also became the first Houston-area healthcare facility to be awarded the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest honor for performance excellence.
Mr. Haralson has a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio. Before joining Memorial Hermann, he spent more than 12 years in the North Texas area with Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves as chair of the Texas Hospital Association’s HOSPAC Board and as a member of its Council on Policy Development. Active in his local community, he also serves on the board of the SouthEast Texas Chapter of ACHE.
In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two teenagers. He is also an avid sports fan who enjoys fishing, hunting and spending time singing and playing music with friends and family.
