Regent’s Message Winter 2018

Message from Your ACHE Regent

Winter 20018

Hello Southeast Texas Colleagues,

First, Happy New Year to you and your family, I hope everyone’s year is off to a great start. If you had a chance to attend one of our education sessions last year, thank you for your support.

Special acknowledgement and thanks to Jeanna Bamburg, FACHE for serving as our chapter president last year. Her leadership was greatly appreciated. I would also like to welcome our incoming chapter president Paul O’Sullivan, FACHE.  I am certain Paul will also do a great job leading our chapter.

For those of you who were unable to attend our first quarter breakfast, you missed a great event. Judge Emmett and Memorial Hermann’s lobbyist did a fantastic job reviewing the phenomenal response of our city during Harvey and disaster preparedness for the future.

I announced two Regent awardees from Southeast Texas at the THA Conference during the Horace Coldwell Breakfast session. I could not be more pleased to award both Jeanna Bamburg, FACHE and Anne-Claire France, PhD, FACHE as recipients of the Southeast Chapter. I have known and worked with both for several years and they have made significant contributions to our chapter over the years. Please join me in congratulating them for this award and recognition.
Many of you may be aware that our chapter is a proud recipient of the ACHE 2018 Award for Chapter Merit and the Award for Sustained Performance. During the March 2018 ACHE Congress ACHE-SETC will be presented the awards from the ACHE Chapter Management and Awards program.

Thank you for your continued support of our chapter and all that you do to make SETC one of the largest and strongest chapters in all of ACHE. Special thanks to Charles D. Stokes, FACHE, CEO of Memorial Hermann.  This year, Chuck serves as the National Chairman of ACHE. Thank you Chuck for your leadership and support.

We have some exciting events scheduled. I hope you will consider joining your colleagues for these sessions. As you all know, 2018 Congress on Healthcare Leadership is right around the corner in Chicago. I plan to attend, and hope to see many of you there as well.
