Please tell us a little about your background and what inspired you to pursue a career in healthcare:

I’m a native Houstonian who grew up in a family-owned business, where I learned early on the importance of responsibility and working hard. I earned my bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Houston and fell into healthcare somewhat unexpectedly right after graduation. Over time, I discovered how much I valued the work and the purpose behind it. My career has taken me through business operations, finance, data analytics, performance improvement, and project management within academic medical centers. Later in my career, I went back to school for my MHA, and in September 2025 I earned my FACHE credential, something I’m especially proud of. Patients don’t come to us because they want to; they come because they need care, and anything we can do to remove barriers and improve their experience truly makes a significant difference.

What activities do you like to do in your free time?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I’m also an active volunteer and Captain with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and I love being able to give back to the community in that way. Baking is one of my favorite hobbies. I find it relaxing, and it allows me to be creative and share something homemade with the people I care about. Lately, I’ve been really into baking sourdough, and it has been so much fun experimenting and learning as I go.

What is your favorite ACHE memory or activity?

My favorite ACHE experiences are the moments when members come together to genuinely support one another, whether at Congress, local meetings, or chapter events. I especially appreciate opportunities to mentor early careerists and students. One of the highlights for me is seeing how ACHE-SETC helps foster connections across Houston’s healthcare community and creates a space where professionals at all stages can learn, grow, stay connected, and feel supported.

How do you envision healthcare in the next 10 years?

In the next decade, I hope we continue advancing in ways that make healthcare more efficient and more accessible, but without losing sight of the patient especially our aging population, who may not be as comfortable with technology and still value the personal, patient-centered care they remember As we introduce more digital tools, it’s important that the experience remains intuitive, accessible that feels human not transactional. I also hope we reshape the way we think about the healthcare workforce. As a society, we need to encourage real work–life balance, support well-being, and value quality over simply pushing people to do more. Healthcare only works when the people delivering the care feel respected, supported, and able to thrive. A healthier workforce ultimately leads to better care for patients.
