Greetings Texas-Southeast colleagues,
It is truly a great privilege to have been nominated and selected to serve as the interim Regent for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Texas-Southeast region. I would like to extend my wishes for continued success to Jessie L. Tucker III, PhD, FACHE and his family in his new role at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey. I have known Jessie for several years and appreciate his support and leadership to the healthcare community and his many contributions to the ACHE-SouthEast Texas Chapter (ACHE-SETC). Thank you so much for all you’ve done, Jessie.
To share with you some of my personal and professional history, I was born and raised in Houston, and have worked for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) for 24 years. I currently serve as the CEO of West Houston Medical Center and have been CEO here for the last 10 years. I have been involved with ACHE for many years and served as president of the ACHE-SETC in 2011, as well as served on the board for many years. I currently serve as the President of the Educational Foundation of the Southeast Texas Chapter. The Foundation of the SETC is a non-profit, charitable organization committed to developing, promoting and providing healthcare leadership and management educational programs to support the ACHE-SETC. I am active in several local chambers and sit on the board of the Houston West Chamber of Commerce. I am excited for the future opportunities that are possible for our region/chapter and look forward to serving you all as the Texas – Southeast interim Regent.
A special warm welcome to all our new members; I encourage your participation in all of the chapter events. These events provide an opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals and reinforce existing relationships among your colleagues, as well as a chance to develop new contacts.
